Inducing Labour

As my EDD is fast approaching, we are anxiously anticipating the arrive of our Bundle of Joy. I sometime do wonder if she will only arrive after the due date & whether induction is necessary since she is already so big.

An induction is required if:

  • your water broke but you are not having contractions
  • your baby still hasn't arrived by 2 weeks after the due date (when you're considered post-term — more than 42 weeks into your pregnancy)
  • you have an infection in the uterus (called chorioamnionitis)
  • you have certain risk factors (e.g., gestational diabetes or high blood pressure)
  • there is not enough amniotic fluid
  • there is a problem with the placenta
  • the baby is not growing appropriately

Some mothers request elective inductions for convenience, but these do come with risks. Doctors try to avoid inducing labor early because the due date may be wrong and/or the woman's cervix might not be ready yet.

We just gonna sit tight & wait for our baby girl to be fully ready to see this beautiful world!

Week 38

At week 38 & 4 days, our baby has really plumped up.
She weighs about 3.5 kg now.
Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.
We are anxiously waiting for her to make her appearance!
She must be waiting for her Grandparents to arrive on the 19th Feb to surprise them!

Baby Cot

We had finally set up the baby's cot.
We managed to find a cosy spot in our master bedroom.
We are waiting for her Granny to bring over some pillows & bolsters.
It's all ready for lil' princess to make her star appearance!

Week 37

This week into the year of the rabbit
Our Baby is considered a full term baby, even with three weeks to go. That doesn't mean she has finished growing — in fact, she's still packing on about a half pound a week.
She’s not kicking as much but stretching, rolling a bit, and wiggling alot.

Right now, our little superstar is busy rehearsing for her big debut, inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid (to get the lungs ready for that first breath), sucking her thumb (to prepare for that first suckle of milk), blinking, and turning from side to side.

Braxton Hicks contractions come more frequently now and last longer and more uncomfortable.

The result of my Group B strep culture came out normal but I'm lack of vitamin D.
I was advised to take 2 tablets of Vitamin D3 in the morning & 2 tablets again in the night!

Yes! 3 more weeks to go!! You are doing well, our bunny girl! See you soon!

Our Baby Shower

2 of my girlfriends from Melbourne organised a baby shower for Me.
*Traditionally, baby showers were given only for the family's first child, and only women attended.
The original intent was for women to share wisdom and lessons on the art of becoming a mother. Over time, it has become common to invite men as well.*

Cupcakes made by one of the organiser, Sharon
Our baby shower was held at Moses & Sharon place.
We had some babies- related games..

Our friends writing their wishes for us & our baby.
& guessing the size of my beautiful bellie..
We are blessed with many gifts..

Just showing off some of the gifts for lil' baby.. We are truely blessed..

All of us shared some nice afternoon tea..

We will be expecting lil' princess arrival in 2-3 weeks time!...

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous - how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
